Position: Heavy Duty Service Technician - Kelowna / North Okanagan Position Type: Full time - Permanent Location: Kelowna, BC. Work Schedule: 40 hrs. / week (flexible shifts) Position Overview First Truck Centre, doing business as Velocity Truck Centres Canada, is looking for an experienced Mobile Heavy-Duty Technicians who is ready to build a long-term career working on all OEM Heavy Duty Trucks and Trailers. Compensation Plan Competitive base hourly wage Shift premiums and overtime pay. Accrued Vacation time. Comprehensive benefit package. Employer RRSP matching plan or Collective Agreement Pension plan. Generous annual tool and boot allowance Employer-paid technical training as required. Job Duties Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain OEM class 6,7, and 8 vehicles in the field in the Northern Okanagan region. Test systems and components using computerized diagnostic and other testing devices to diagnose and isolate faults. Ensure professional quality detail and craftsmanship. Maintain efficient and accurate workmanship in a safe and professional environment. Implement workflow procedures and continuous improvement initiatives for the department. Qualifications Strong aptitude for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance, with a minimum of 3 years' experience. Commercial Transport (Truck and Transport Mechanic) Journeyman Certificate (or Red Seal). Heavy Truck and Trailer subject matter expert. Initiative-taker able to work in a fast-paced, detailed, and process-driven environment. Ability to work in a physical capacity, including heavy lifting and using tools throughout the shift. Must have own tools (required tool list will be provided). Experience in time management. Class 5 driver's license. Class 1, Class 3, and MVI Certifications are a bonus.
