JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for supporting import and export operation, assisting with complex customs compliance processes in a timely and cost-effective manner. It includes providing guidance to the broker regarding HS classification, country of origin, FTA treatment, valuation, and other trade compliance duty as assigned. Position Type: Full-time Territory: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid) Reporting to: Senior Trade Compliance Analyst CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Oversee import/export operation and ensure operation complies with both Canada and USA government regulations Support global trade compliance team to create SOP and integration plan for Medline global business Co-operate with the buyers to obtain FTA certificates, import document and information for customs clearance Determine the HS code for urgent requests, update and maintain a master HS database for all products Support third party trade consultant on duty refund claim and appeal Verify brokerage invoices to avoid incorrect duty and other charges Assist in customs audit and file post-entry adjustment within the timeline Audit, track, and trend import broker performance Support other departments with compliance-related questions Review and maintain correct duty rates and tax codes in SAP for product cost setup Archive customs documents to meet the record keeping requirement Complete other duties and projects as required QUALIFICATIONS Education Level: College diploma in customs, logistic or international trade business 1-2 year of customs industry related experience Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) is an asset Certified Trade Compliance Specialist (CTCS) is an asset Experience with SAP is considered an asset Intermediate level in Excel spreadsheet About Medline Canada Medline Canada stands at the forefront of healthcare, providing expertise and a breadth of solutions for every care setting.
