Description:
Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and repair machinery and mechanical equipment that moves, filters, or processes paint and related materials, housing units and electrical systems. Repair safety and sanitation issues in work areas using the necessary tools. Repair and maintain production line equipment, pumps, tanks, and conveyors. Clean and repair piping systems, Build or modify machinery. Repair, Fabricate and weld necessary components to maintain equipment. Test equipment to ensure proper operation, Perform preventive maintenance on machines. Promptly complete maintenance work orders as assigned. Operate a variety of machinery, equipment, and tools including saws, routers, drills, sanders, planers, drill presses, and different hand tools. Identify and perform basic service and repair on plumbing fixtures; open clogged lines and drains. Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment; recommend tools, supplies, and equipment for purchase. Respond to 24-hour emergency calls Adjust hours as necessary may required occasional overtime and weekend work. Knowledge of proper safety techniques and procedures while using chemicals, power tools, hand tools, and equipment; knowledge of proper lifting techniques Operate heavy equipment, forklift, scissor and boom lifts. Understanding of building codes and "International Building Code" (IBC) Help move, load, unload, and storing supplies, furniture, and equipment. Wear proper protective equipment while performing job responsibilities (i.e., goggles, helmet, back brace, knee pads). Effective communication skills with students, employees, faculty, and the general public.
