Summary: The Shop Foreman assists and coordinates activities of workers engaged in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment, and in fabricating metal parts and tools. Issues spare parts for equipment repair and maintenance. Prepares work schedules for field and shop repairs. Must have 421A Heavy Equipment Certification Duties and Responsibilities : Assists with the daily operation of the Service Department within all ECA procedures, guidelines, and company goals. Assists Service Manager with preparing work order estimates for customer/shop repairs. Assists Service Manager with daily organization of job duties. Coordinate the efforts of the service department to prioritize repairs according to demand. Coordinate activities involved with scheduling service, including the dispatching of service personnel and technicians. Handles all service-related issues for new and existing customers. Work with parts department for internal/external repairs. Assist parts department on what parts need to be part of a bulk order. Manage all On/Off Hires Communicate repairs and service calls with customers through Modern program Assist with monitoring all work orders, checking for accuracy, completeness, and timely processing. Assigns daily/weekly dispatch and job schedules for shop employees. Assists with the branch safety program and conducts weekly safety meetings. Assists techs and customers with technical information and troubleshooting equipment. Mentor & train new and existing service techs Assist with the tech training schedule and needs. Communicates with Office Manager on shipping & receiving of equipment. Completes shippers/receivers. Files pictures and paper accordingly. Work with sales staff with transport data on equipment to be shipped out on rent. Ensures all shop equipment is in safe working order, maintained properly and inspected in accordance with ECA and manufactures requirements. Assist with building maintenance. Responsible for monthly and yearly shop inspections. Travel required as needed. Required Skills/ Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Required Characteristics: Self-Motivated High Energy Dependable Positive attitude and people skills Education and Experience: High School or GED required. Minimum of 5 years of shop foreman in a similar environment 421A Heavy Duty Equipment Technician certified or ready to write Strong knowledge of safety regulations and procedures including OSHA and other federal or state requirements) Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.
