Our services include emergency food transitional housing and education for homeless and street-involved youth; hospice palliative care; community mental health programs; and supportive housing programs. By integrating a Harm Reduction framework at Good Shepherd, we can decrease barriers to service and better support some of our community's most marginalized members. This opportunity is with our Good Shepherd - HOMES How You Will Make an Impact Support and encourage attendance and participation in programs Participate in programs as a role model, mentor and coach to tenants. Work with recreation supervisor, teams and tenants in program development and implementation Lead recreation programs on-sites, Good Food Box program, trips outings, and volunteer programs. Work with recreation supervisor to identify participant needs. Communicate and collaborate with Good Shepherd staff, community mental health agencies and community partners. What You'll Bring to Our Team Education and experience in recreation. Experience working in the mental health field Belief in and understanding of Recovery Knowledge of recreation opportunities in Hamilton Experience working both individually and as part of a team Proven ability to encourage and motivate change Creative, innovative, flexible personality with the ability to multi-task.
