Hello there!! My name is Simon and here's some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Labrador mix Age: 1 year approx. Gender: Male Weight: 48.5lbs (22 kg) Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - Although my backstory is a bit of a blur, I found myself one day on a busy avenue in Guadalajara weaving amongst the traffic (gulp!). I'm not sure how I got there, all I know is I was following a nice two-legged friend who was offering me some cookies (I was awfully hungry!). My rescuer saw this happening and was afraid I was going to get myself into a bad spot with a car so she pulled up alongside me with her vehicle and I hopped right in and made myself at home. The rest is history! TEMPERAMENT - I live in a kennel currently so I've had lots of exposure to other pups and do very well around them. I'm a happy-go-lucky pup who is well-balanced and very sociable with both hoomans and doggos alike. I'm working on all my skills like walking on a leash, going potty where I'm told and being in a crate and I'm super duper smart! I hope one day to have a home of my own and my own family so I can impress you with my good behaviour :) ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate/High GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown (but can be tested!) Dogs – Yep!! I get along just fine with other dogs. Cats – Unknown PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – These are a work in progress however my fotser says I am doing well! My adopter must still be willing to provide me with some training and patience :) House trained – This is a work in progress however my foster says I am doing well! Crate trained – This is a work in progress however my foster says I am doing well! Car rides – This is a work in progress however my foster says I am doing well! Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives. HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
