From our flock care, to our food processing technologies, to our relationships with customers, we live and work by these values.We are currently seeking to hire 2 slaughtering and meat processing plant inspector/ Poultry InspectorBenefit: 2 weeks annual vacationAnticipated Start Date: As soon as possibleAddress: 4272 4th Conc N, Amherstburg, ON N9V 2Y9Details of this position: Monday to Friday, with optional over-time Permanent, Full time $35/hour Medical, Long-term disability & Dental Requirements of this position: Supervise control procedures to maintain animal welfare procedures for live poultry on the establishment. Monitor the operations and sanitary conditions of slaughtering and meat processing plants and inspect carcasses to ensure they are fit for human consumption. Maintain Pre-Requisite procedures for smooth Poultry operations, Food safety/ security and Bio security program. Maintain good recordkeeping of Food Safety, Maintenance, and Pest control and Equipment records; Maintain Inventory of Supplies needed for Poultry operations. Communicates with CFIA with respect to any CVS, animal welfare, slaughter, production, or food safety issues identified within the facility. Act as primary contact with the CFIA and provide all requested documentation to allow CFIA to complete CVS tasks in a timely manner. Attend meetings with the CFIA when requested. Facilitate customer, 3rd party, CFIA and BRC audits. Generate work schedules and establish SOPs and working procedures. Communicates with Production supervisor, Supervisor – maintenance and plant manager to report any quality, food safety or regulatory issues identified within the facility. Completes HACCP/food safety & quality documentation as required by the Food Safety and quality program. Assist QA technicians in the completion of monitoring tasks in the event that additional tests are required during plant operations. Arrange for samples to be picked up and delivered to the laboratory. Review and assess laboratory results when received from the laboratory. Conducts monitoring, reassessment and verification activities as outlined in the Food safety (HACCP) and quality programs. Conducts employee training as required. Adheres to responsibilities of the BRC program as defined within the BRC manual. Organize and document the completion of BRC team meetings on a monthly basis. Conduct Internal audits for the BRC program. Maintain product specification for finished poultry products. Maintains a clean and organized work environment. May perform general harvesting labor duties if needed. Conduct Poultry Grading for accurate segregation and labelling of finished product. Ensures that all employees under direct report follow GMP’s, HACCP/Quality procedures and Health and safety procedures as per established programs. Ensures adherence to Health & Safety guidelines and communicates concerns to management immediately. Follows all company’s guidelines policies and other duties as assigned. May be required to complete any other duties as assigned. What will you need?
