Description:
Senior Cisco Network Engineer (Cisco IOS, Cisco NX-OS, Cisco UCM voice systems and QOS) Cambridge. ON (hybrid) Contract Reporting to the Network Manager Implement and manage IT Infrastructure in compliance with IT strategies and road-maps, as well as provide technical support in an integrated, multi-platform system environment. This includes system hardware, software, desktops, networks, voice communications, disaster recovery, monitoring, and security . Ensure availability and accessibility of client's infrastructure systems according to established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Collaborate with third-party vendors and manage delivery of contracted services ensuring compliance with the client processes and best practices. Engage with other IT departments and business partners to translate business objectives into cohesive recommendations and solutions, define infrastructure design, and deliver quality services and solutions. Evaluate and implement new products available through outside vendors. Establish and document operational standards and procedures.Responsible for the design, installation, configuration, maintenance, system integration testing, documentation, capacity management and support of network routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, proxy servers and wireless infrastructure. Manage the planning and designing of new networks, and ensure appropriate interface capabilities with other networks and systems. Proactively monitor and manage Networks for faults and performance exceptions. Implement and support wide area network services and routing protocols. Provides coaching to junior-level employees. Responsibilities: Design, install, configure, and maintain network (Cisco IOS, NX-OS, and associated connected systems) and related utilities, and hardware. Manage work requests related to the network including incident response, service requests, and change requests. Perform analysis and diagnosis of complex voice and data network issues. Advanced knowledge of Cisco UCM voice systems and QOS. Provide operational oversight of Infrastructure vendor performance, including maintenance of SLAs, aged incidents, capacity planning, and problem resolution. Review monitoring and control of infrastructure performance in the areas of response, throughput, and availability. Partner with Enterprise Architecture and vendor partners to evaluate applicable technology trends, research, evaluate and recommend enterprise network products/protocols/technologies, and establish network system. Develop and maintain documentation of the design, implementation and operation of network. On-call duties to support the 24x7 business operations. Must-Haves: Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or a similar program. 7+ years of experience planning and implementing large-scale, multi-vendor networks i n corporate and service provider environments including specific experience with r outing, switching, and network security services (firewalls, proxy etc.) Experience maintaining and supporting Cisco network infrastructure and services including in-depth analysis and problem resolution. Experience designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining networks ( Cisco IOS, NX-OS, and associated connected systems) and related utilities, and hardware. Advanced knowledge of Cisco UCM voice systems and QOS . Experience with P ython, Ansible and other network automation tools in a large, distributed environment. Strong understanding of ITIL Principals and/or ITIL Foundation Certification.
