Title : Long Haul Truck Driver (NOC : 7411) Employer : Nikolas Transport Ltd #904-525 11th Street, New Westminster, B.C V M 4G5 Terms of Employment : Permanent, Full Time Salary : $27.00, depending on experience, minimum 40 hours per week with potential for 60 hours weekly Benefits : Paid training, Free parking Anticipated Start Date : As soon as possible Location : New Westminster, British Columbia Positions available : 6 Skill Requirements : Education : N/A Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.) : Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A), Air Brake (Z) Endorsement Experience : More than 2 years of work experience as a long haul truck driver (winter and through mountains) is an asset Languages : English, Serbian an asset Job description : Specific Skills : Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Plan travel schedules and routes and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Drive as part of a two-person team or single. Oversee condition of vehicle and brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Monitor vehicle performance and mechanical fitness. Physical Capabilities : Physically demanding Type of Trucking and Equipment : Tractor-trailer, highway, Dump Type of Travel : Long-haul, Provincial/territorial, and International Documentation Knowledge : Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Accident or incident reports. Communication Equipment Experience : Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment Weight Handling : Up to 45 kg (100 lbs) Transportation/Travel Information : Must be able to travel cross-border, willing to travel for extended periods.
