Hello!! My name is Fiona and here is some info about me:PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Lab/border collie mix Age: 1 year 10 months Gender: Female Weight: 27 lbs (12kg) Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - I have been waiting a LONG time to find my furever family! My story starts when I was a very very young pup. You see, I was found with my siblings in a town on the outskirts of Guadalajara. Since I was so small and cute (let's be real, I'm STILL super cute!!), I was adopted quickly by a family. I thought this family was going to love me forever, however (this story is one that you might have heard before), as I got bigger and grew out of being a puppy...my family abandoned me. Can you imagine that? Well I was really heartbroken and depressed and it took me awhile to get over my grief and abandonment. However, as time passed and my heart healed, I slowly began to show my true, playful, loving personality again! I am now ready to give hoomans a second chance and find my furever home (for real this time). I would do well with a family that enjoys lots of exercise as I am a high-energy, Border Collie mix!TEMPERAMENT - I am a high energy, super playful, really active, full of life, lots of fun kind of dog!! I LOVE to play both with people and with dogs as much as I can, as you can see here ! I do like to play on the rough side, so I tend to play with dogs my size who can handle all my energy! I'm a very sweet and friendly girl though and am very affectionate to anyone who will give me love and pets (and toys ). I need an active family who has the time and energy to take me for lots of walks, play with me, and give me all the attention that I need! I promise we'll have a blast together!ENERGY LEVEL - Very high! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown Dogs – Definitely! I love to play with other dogs, as you can see here ! Cats – Unknown PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.TRAINING: Leash skills – I do pretty well on a leash , but still being young and energetic I may get distracted and will need some training! House trained – My rescuers say I do well with not having accidents inside, but I may still need some work on this. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn in my new home :) Resource guarding: I'm not a fan of sharing my food and may need some extra patience and training with this if I am not the only dog in the house. Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain) to offer adopters one training session at a rate of $25. Any subsequent sessions will be offered at a rate of $50. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives. HEALTH NOTES: I am spayed and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
