Job Summary: A Technician, Robotics in a blow molding plant, is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing robotic systems and automation equipment used in the manufacturing process. This role is key to ensuring the reliable operation, optimal performance, and safe utilization of robotic systems and automation technologies in an automotive parts manufacturing company. Their technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and commitment to quality are essential for maintaining high standards of productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness in the manufacturing process. Job Responsibilities: Your supervisor may from time to time ask you to perform other related duties not specifically included in this job description. This job's key responsibilities include: Maintenance and Repair: Leveraging the technical drawings, ensure tolerances and specifications, perform routine maintenance tasks on robotic systems, including inspections, lubrication, calibration, and component replacements, to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and programming issues to minimize downtime and prevent production disruptions. Programming and Configuration : Program and configure robotic controllers, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), and other automation equipment to perform specific tasks according to production requirements. Modify robot programs, tooling setups, and operating parameters to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and cycle times. Must have Motoman software and programming language used for Motoman robots is typically called Yaskawa Robot Language (YRL) or Motoman-specific programming language. Troubleshooting : identifying, diagnosing, and resolving issues related to robotic systems and automation equipment to ensure uninterrupted production and optimal performance. Ensuring that equipment meets established quality assurance specifications. Programming and troubleshooting PLC programs, Robotic path programming, troubleshoot all equipment related to blow moulding machines, indexing tables, servo drives, hydraulic power units. Review schematics for electrical and pneumatic circuits using AUTO CAD software and communicate/advise to the maintenance personnel regarding fault analysis. Review the Operator Interface Controls, adjust and modify as required to meet process requirements. Integration and Commissioning : Assist in the integration, installation, and commissioning of new robotic systems and automation technologies within the manufacturing facility. Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and external vendors to ensure seamless integration, functional testing, and performance validation of robotic equipment. Job Qualifications: Entry-Level Experience: 1-2 years ofentry-level experience in manufacturing, engineering, or technical fields is beneficial. This may include internships, co-op programs, or part-time jobs where individuals gain exposure to industrial environments, automation systems, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting. Technical Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude and technical skills are essential for understanding robotic systems, sensors, actuators, and control systems. Familiarity with electrical circuits, pneumatic systems, and hydraulic systems is also beneficial. Robotics Knowledge: Basic knowledge of robotics principles, kinematics, dynamics, and control theory. Understanding of robotic programming languages such as Robot Programming Language (RPL), ladder logic, or other proprietary languages used by robot manufacturers. Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and programming issues in robotic systems. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other testing equipment to identify and resolve problems. Why ABC?
