The Assistant Department Manager takes a leadership role to ensure that departmental standards of excellent customer service, high quality product, proper food safety, and efficient procedures are maintained. The Assistant Department Manager shares responsibility for the overall operation and profitability of the department and works with our team members to ensure high performance. To be successful in this role: One or more years of experience in a supervisory role in a customer service environment Attention to detail Strong communication skills Strong customer service skills The ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations Confidence, drive and enthusiasm Decision-making and problem-solving abilities and a sense of responsibility Able to work in fast paced environment Strong Interpersonal & team building skills Leadership – inspires others communicates the Pete's Frootique & Fine Foods vision with excitement and enthusiasm Adaptability Product Knowledge – knowledge of food products Delegation skills Coaching skills Work involves continuous interaction with customers and co-workers in a fast-paced environment and on the retail floorTypical motions include sitting, standing, walking, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending and reachingResponsible for moving and lifting an average of 10 – 40 lbs with a maximum weight lifted of 75 lbs occasionallyMay be exposed to various allergens and work environments, including temperature changesWill be required to spend the majority of time standing
