GrizzlyTrek invest in our people, our relationships and our partners, ensuring ready to work individuals meet job opportunities that create lasting success for them and our business partners Job Description : Second Class Power Engineer - Gas Plant Operator Schedule: 7 Days On / 7 Days Off Operation and Maintenance of Equipment : Oversee the operation and maintenance of the plant's equipment, ensuring adherence to safety and efficiency standards. Safety and Compliance : Ensure strict compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards, particularly in handling sour gas. Troubleshooting and Problem Solving : Identify, analyze, and resolve operational problems to minimize downtime and maintain continuous plant operation. Monitoring and Control Systems : Efficiently operate and monitor control systems and respond to system deviations or alarms. Maintenance Planning : Assist in planning and executing routine maintenance and outage activities to enhance plant reliability. Emergency Response : Actively participate in emergency response drills and real incidents, demonstrating a high level of preparedness and safety awareness. Record Keeping and Reporting : Maintain accurate operational records and provide reports on plant performance and issues. Team Collaboration : Work collaboratively with other engineers, technicians, and staff to ensure optimal plant operation. Continuous Improvement : Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, suggesting enhancements to operational procedures and safety protocols. Training and Supervision : Provide guidance and training to junior staff and ensure that team members adhere to operational best practices and safety standards. Requirements Valid Second Class Power Engineer Certification as per Alberta standards. Previous experience in a sour gas plant or similar industrial setting. Strong understanding of sour gas processing and related safety hazards. Proficient in the use of control systems and industrial automation tools. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Commitment to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
