Competition: 2024-168-CP Senior Manager, Financial Empowerment Collaborative Employment Type: Contract ending March 31, 2025, Non-Bargaining Unit Work Hours: 35 hours/week Work Setting: Hybrid - Opportunity to Work Remotely after Orientation & Training Period Salary: $74,000 - $75,000 Application Deadline: May 26, 2024 by 11:59 pm Program Overview – Financial Empowerment, Community Programs We are seeking an accomplished and visionary Senior Manager to lead and oversee a network of agencies in the Toronto, York, and Peel Region dedicated to advancing financial empowerment programs, advocacy, research, capacity building, fundraising, and grant administration. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, an understanding of financial empowerment initiatives, and the ability to foster collaboration among diverse stakeholders, while also managing fundraising and grant administration processes. This role includes responsibilities related to backbone functions, such as expanding impact through network building, public education, marketing, and focused coordination. Our Financial Empowerment program is a dynamic and results-oriented team within our Community Programs unit which offers a range of resources, supports and services to respond to the financial needs of individuals living on a low income. One of the key goals of our unit is to help Ontarians find sustainable pathways out of poverty through connecting them with a variety of supports including financial counselling and tax supports alongside other services, such as employment, settlement and skills training. What You Will Do Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a strategic vision for the collaborative that integrates backbone functions to enhance partner impact. Provide leadership and guidance to member agencies, emphasizing network building, public education, marketing, and fundraising strategies. Coordinate the Steering Committee with members representing major financial empowerment stakeholders in the GTA. Advocacy and Public Relations: Collaborate with partners to identify issues at the frontline and develop public education and advocacy strategies to address them. Strengthen referral pathways with service systems to improve resource allocations and better meet targeted client objectives. Network Building and Public Education: Expand the impact of all partners through focused network building, public education, and marketing efforts. Coordinate with Prosper Canada to deliver training to GTA-based organizations and frontline workers in various sectors to enhance problem-solving for financial issues. Support for Providers: Provide support to new providers in the York and Peel region, including management, and frontline staff training, mentorship, and the development of standard operating procedures and policies. Strengthen referral pathways between providers and the backbone for efficient case consultations. Coordination with Social Services Providers: Streamline connections between the collaboration and social services providers and systems to better support clients and efficiently connect them to financial empowerment resources. Grant Administration and Sustainability: Manage fundraising efforts and grant administration, identifying and pursuing opportunities to secure financial resources. Provide support on funding applications and other opportunities related to program sustainability. What You Bring to the Team Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, public administration, business, or related discipline) or equivalent education and training. Experience in program management, fundraising, grant administration, and network building, preferably in the context of financial empowerment or related social services. What Will Set You Apart Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Understanding of the social, economic, and cultural dynamics of the Toronto, York, and Peel Region, including poverty, racism and other diversity, equity and inclusion issues.
