(“Triton”) is seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic Wildlife Biologists, at all experience levels, to join a well-established team of environmental professionals in our Vancouver BC, office! You will get the chance to be part of some exciting ongoing projects that are integral to building the local and provincial community. This position will appeal to individuals who have a passion for working outdoors and who thrive working in a dynamic and fast-paced consulting environment. Successful candidates will be part of a team building world-class projects that balance environmental stewardship with responsible resource development. This position will be responsible for providing wildlife specialist expertise to field staff and project management teams. Responsibilities, depending on experience level, include, but are not limited to, the following: Conducting wildlife surveys and monitoring procedures including breeding bird and herptile surveys, pre-disturbance nest surveys, nest monitoring, various sensitive species-specific surveys, construction mitigation for wildlife, bat surveys and monitoring, and herptile capture and relocation Providing technical wildlife support to collaborative project teams Manage tasks and projects according to approved scopes of works and deliver quality reports on schedule Liaise with on-site client representatives and contractors Provide quality and independent review for projects Provide an understanding of environmental Best Management Practices and advise clients accordingly Work collaboratively within the Triton corporate culture SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS B.Sc. or M.Sc. in biology or related field. Professional Biologist designation is preferred Experience with Wildlife Biology is preferred Experience conducting a broad variety of wildlife scopes in pre-construction and construction settings. Species at Risk experience an asset. Familiarity with provincial and federal regulations and guidance materials. Ability to work in physically demanding remote field settings for extended durations, staying in a mix of camp and hotel accommodations. Multi-jurisdictional knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, and permit application processes. Strong technical writing, reporting, communication, team leadership and project management skills. Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style. Superior problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box Valid driver's license from a Canadian province or Territory, acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting HOW TO APPLY If this opportunity sounds like you, and you are serious about joining a progressive team of environmental consultants, please apply with a resume and cover letter. SCHEDULE This position will entail working in the field. Candidates must be willing and able to work in physically demanding remote field settings for extended durations, staying in a mix of camp and hotel accommodations. For more senior level candidates, there could be potential to do more office related work and/or later consideration of getting involved in more project coordination/ management related type work. COMPENSATON The compensation range is dependent upon candidate experience and qualifications. The pay range for more junior staff can start at $28 dollars per hour going up to $46 per hour for more experienced staff.
