Adopt Flavie a Black - with Tan, Yellow or Fawn German Shepherd Dog / Mixed dog

Flavie and her cat friend were found abandoned in a house without food or water. She's a German Shepherd about 8 months old and only around 30 pounds. Shelter staff describe her as adorable, sweet, and curious, and very docile with humans and cats. Flavie doesn't seem to have been socialized much with other dogs. First greetings can be intimidating, but turns to play when meeting well socialized dogs. She is, however, a bit too much in her approach for small dogs, so it would be best to limit her socialization to larger dogs. At the shelter, she played with a Standard Poodle and a Maremma Shepherd, both young males who are very playful and tolerant with other dogs. Flavie has been diagnosed with bilateral hip dysplasia, severe on one side and moderate on the other, that needs to be investigated further. We will be consulting with the vet who does our orthopedic surgeries to determine the best course of action to ensure Flavie is comfortable and has a good quality of life.
