Hello Sunray! This absolutely gorgeous boy is searching for a forever home. He currently lives in a condo with his foster mom and his sister, Sunshine. He is that extreme rarity, a male calico.The incidence of a male calico is thousands to one so he is very much an exception to every rule. Sunray is an 8 month old calico and he is just the cutest little button around. He is inquisitive, playful and sensitive. His favourite toys are felt mice and feather wands, he'll chase them in circles until he catches them! His other favourite pastime is sleeping curled up with his sister, they are really two peas in a pod. He uses his litterbox like a champ and eats all kinds of cat food without issues. Sunray and Sunshine were found at the side of the road at around 4 months old. Since then they have lived in a shelter cage so their environment and interaction with people was a bit overwhelming to say the least. Sunray requires a home that understands his unique needs. He is very timid around people and will run and hide if you walk towards him or if you make sudden movements. His adopters will have to give him plenty of time and space for him to become comfortable. He is not ready to be pet or picked up, so patience is the name of the game with this sensitive boy. Sunray doesn't have a mean bone in his body he is just very scared. In one week at his foster home he has shown excellent improvement; from spending the entire day under the couch to being hand fed and playing with felt mice by hand right in front of his nose. He is an avid lover of feather wands and felt mice and will run after them eagerly. Which is a great thing because he is very tubby! His adopters will have to work on helping him shed some pounds as well as becoming more confident. Expect to do a fair bit strategizing in the beginning for cutting claws and putting him in a carrier. As he matures and is provided positive reinforcement these behaviours will very likely dissipate and he will grow into a more confident and affectionate cat. His adopters will have to understand that there may be certain things he may never be able to overcome. Sunray is a really good cat, he is sweet and sensitive and has the most beautiful soul. He will require a very special forever home that is willing to take the time to help him experience how wonderful life with people can be.
