Hola I'm Lola ('Lulu' in Mexico)! You can learn more about me here:PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Lab - German Shepherd mix Age: 4 years 3 months approx. Gender: Female Height (to shoulders): approx. 42cm Weight: 66lbs (30 kg) Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - You would never know it from how well-behaved I am (If I do say so myself) but I am an ex-street doggo! My life consisted of surviving on the streets of Mexico with my inseparable doggo friend Chaparra, giving birth to many litters of puppies (who were often stolen from me) and being mistreated by unkind strangers. One day, a kind hooman started feeding me and Chaparra. This went on for awhile until the hooman noticed that my friend had a wound on her back...she had been stabbed with an ice pick! OUCH. This kind stranger knew that we probably wouldn't last much longer on the streets and so she took us both in. In this time I have grown to be a wonderful, loving companion doggo who waits patiently in my foster's small studio apartment (with two other pups!) for her to come home from her 10-hour work shifts. My foster gives me her absolute best but feels I am in need of more space as I am starting to put on some extra weight...hehehe. I would love to be homed with my best friend Chaparra, however, I know this may not be possible and I would make an excellent family doggo on my own too.TEMPERAMENT - I may be a little shy at first (after all, I couldn't always trust hoomans to be nice to me!) but once I know I am safe, I am an affectionate, grateful pup. ENERGY LEVEL - Low - Moderate. I am a calm doggo when I'm indoors but I know how to have a little fun when I'm outside and walks are the highlight of my day!GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Yes - you can see me around older kids here . Dogs – Yes! I live with two other doggos right now. Cats – Yep I'm fine with kitties as you can see here . PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.TRAINING: Leash skills – My leash skills are in progress (see here ) and I may need some additional patience and training. House trained – My rescuer says I am very good with this but I may need some additional training and patience. Crate trained – No Car rides – My foster parent says I am good with these. Note: I dislike and bark at motorcycles because I was attacked by someone riding one once. Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain) to offer adopters one training session at a rate of $25. Any subsequent sessions will be offered at a rate of $50. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives. HEALTH NOTES: I am spayed and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
