Description:

***IN FOSTER***"The wonderful thing about tiggersIs tiggers are wonderful things!Their tops are made out of rubberTheir bottoms are made out of springs!"Meet handsome Tigger! Our Tigger is surely a wonderful thing, but you'll be hard-pressed to find any part of him that's rubber, and he'd like you to know that his bottom is most certainly NOT made of springs! Despite having the same name as the famous, bouncy cartoon character, our Tigger is a relaxed, low-key guy who has come out of his shell and is showing off his funny and sweet personality.Tigger initially had his guard up because he was uprooted when his owner had to move into a long-term care home where, sadly, cats are not allowed. These days, he's a total "people cat." His foster parent says he's as "loyal as a dog" because he will follow her around the house. Tigger loves pets and belly rubs (he can't get enough of them!), and he even enjoys being brushed (but when he has had his fill, he will give you a light swat to stop). Tigger is very playful, especially with catnip toys, balls, strings, feather wand, and stuffed animals. When he needs a break, he will retire to his favourite cat couch in the sun or watch the bird and squirrel show through the window. In colder weather, Tigger will cozy up under a blanket or duvet. If you can't find him, just look for the big lump! He is also a fan of boxes and bags, or really anything lying around!Tigger is a big boy, but is currently following a healthy diet to shed those pesky pounds. He is very food-motivated and not one to decline a snack-he will even sit for treats (maybe he really is a dog?). He can be very vocal and loves to "chat" with his foster parents. When Tigger is relaxed and comfortable, he will sleep in the presence of his human counterpart and even curl up in bed with them at night.Despite his charm, Tigger can still be a bit cautious around people he's meeting for the first time. Noise or sudden movements can easily startle Tigger, causing him to respond with a hiss, but this behaviour is slowly fading as his confidence grows. He would be best suited to a quiet home without young children, and with an adopter who is experienced and can handle a few hisses from time to time. Despite being described as a dog, he does not seem to enjoy their company. He will also need continued support on his journey to a healthier weight. Our Tigger is a wonderful thing, but the most wonderful thing about him...is he's the only one! Make Tigger your one and only by applying to adopt him today!--------------------The adoption fee for a single cat at EHS is $175. Take home a feline friend for your kitty and the adoption fee for the pair is $300! For kittens under six months of age, the adoption fee is $200. Or double your cuteness quotient and adopt two wee furballs for $350! Each of our cats is spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, snap tested for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption. Kittens are not spayed or neutered until 5 months of age, but the cost of spay/neuter will be covered as part of the adoption.--------------------Interested in adopting Tigger? It's easy!
