Nellie is the prettiest little tabby you will ever meet. When she first came into her foster home she was tiny, terrified of humans...and pregnant. She gave birth to four kittens who were all adopted to loving homes. Nellie then started settling into her foster home. She now loves to be pet, to have treats, to play with her foster brother and look out the window. Nellie still has a journey ahead of her. She's very shy and it will take awhile for her to settle into a new home. She cannot be picked up. She must go to a home that has a room that will be just for her while she settles in. Nellie loves other kitties and relies on them to show her the way of the house. So she also needs to go to a home with at least one other cat. Other cats must be friendly and able to accept a new friend. Nellie is very passive and is easily bullied by dominant cats. The last thing is that Nellie must go to an adults only home. As mentioned she is very shy and would do best in a quieter home. Nellie is still learning how to indoor cat but she's very special. She's so sweet and when Nellie chooses you as a trusted human, there is no better feeling.Adoption processAll adoptions begin with an adoption application, available here or on our website (or from one of our wonderful volunteers in person). The application is reviewed by the adoptable animal's foster home as well as by the appropriate coordinator (canine/feline/small animal) to assess how the animal will fit in your home. We endeavour to respond to all applications within 48 hours, but being 100% run by volunteers sometimes we need additional time--if you haven't heard back after 48 hours, feel free to contact us to check in on your application. All dogs and puppies have an adoption fee of $300, kittens under 6 months of age have an adoption fee of $250, and cats over 6 months of age have an adoption fee of $200, unless otherwise noted.
