Description:

Hey you!! My name is Chanel (AKA Coco) and here's more about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Lab/Staffordshire Terrier mix Age: 9 months Gender: Female Weight: 40lbs (18 kg) Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - I had a super tough start to life to put it mildly. Due to my living circumstances, all I knew in my first few weeks and months was hunger and discomfort. This is because, although I had a home and an owner, my owner had developed a bad hoarding habit and had collected 20 cats as well as my mumma Kira and my 3 surviving siblings (of the original 13 that were born). Due to the resulting neglect, my mum and siblings and I were found with a bad case of sarcoptic mange and malnutrition. We were in such a bad state we could barely open our eyes! Finally an earth angel came to rescue us and nursed us all back to health. I am now all better and pretty darn cute if I say so myself! TEMPERAMENT - I am a sweet girl, who can be a bit shy at first until I get to know you. Once I'm comfortable however I'm sure to steal your heart! I'm very calm and a submissive pooch around the other pups I live with. Some of my bestest toys include balls and teddy bears and I really love food too (which is great news for those interested in training me!). My favourite part of the day is when my foster hooman comes home and we get to cuddle in bed together (can I cuddle in bed with you??). I would love nothing more than to prove to you how loving and loyal my breed can be. ENERGY LEVEL - Moderate GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown but not recommended for a house with small children just because I am excitable Dogs – Yep!! I get along just fine with other dogs both big and small Cats – Not recommended as I don't have very good boundaries hehehe PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – My rescuers say I am great with my leash skills, however I may need some additional patience and training. House trained – My rescuer says I am doing well with this but I may need some additional training and patience. Crate trained – My rescuer says this is in progress but I may need some additional training and patience. Car rides – I do pretty well in the car but still may need some additional training and patience. Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain, Balanced Dog Trainer) to offer adopters 50% off one training session (not including tax and applicable gas surcharges). Any subsequent sessions will be offered at standard rates. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives. HEALTH NOTES: I am spayed and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD + applicable taxes, which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live. WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates. ##1811759##Adoption processPlease keep in mind that there may be multiple applications for a single dog and that even if your phone interview and home check are successful, there is no guarantee that you will be matched with the dog you have applied for. Your chances of a successful match greatly increase if you list more than one dog on your application.
