Description:

Hi! My name is Blossom (Lady), and here is a bit about me! Breed: Spitz mixAge: about 3 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 11.5 kg Height: 25 cmHighlight(s): Playful, athletic, affectionate I was rescued from a really dire situation when I was just under one year old. Even though I was practically just a baby myself, I had just given birth to a litter of puppies who were then taken away from me. To make it even worse, somehow my leg was broken (sadly, it looks like this was intentional) and it was decided that it would be easiest to end my life. Just when things were at their darkest, my guardian angel rescued me! She even paid for all of my medical expenses, including surgery for my broken leg. I’m now fully recovered and healthy, and looking to lay down some permanent roots! My foster family calls me Blossom because I love to make a smile bloom on every face I meet! I’m playful and loveable, and my silly antics mean that I can be best ‘buds’ with just about everyone! Well, almost everyone… kittens tend to be a thorn in my side, but adult cats are ok. I adore humans and dogs of all types, but most especially male dogs! I love to dote on them and treat them like they’re my puppies. I walk perfectly on the leash, and I don’t even bark (though if another pup starts barking I can’t help but join in the fun!) I had surgery to mend a broken leg, and I’m fully recovered! However, my foster has noticed that sometimes if I am extra active, I will hold the previously injured leg off the ground for a few seconds. It doesn’t seem to hurt me or inhibit me in any way, it just seems to get tired a little faster. As an active little flower who loves to run and play, I would love to find a forever home where my athleticism can thrive. Bonus points if there is another dog (especially a male dog) for me to spend time with! A home with children or adult cats would also be just wonderful, but please nowhere with kittens. https://youtube.com/watch?v=h1e72z9avVo, https://youtube.com/watch?v=zVg4hOuSU74 Energy Level: High I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: yes Fears: unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training:Leash skills: I’m leash trained! Please be ready to continue training.House trained: Unsure. Please be prepared to help me learn! Health notes:Please see info regarding my previously broken leg in my bio.I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and theenvironment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.##1856471##Adoption processWe offer a foster to adopt program for adopters of overseas dogs. As they will be taking their dog home straight from the airport, they have a couple of weeks to decide if the dog is a fit. In the rare times the dog isn’t found suitable we will find the dog another home.
