We are seeking a new Filing Room Service Technician to join our team of dedicated employees at our facility in Penticton, BC, part of our Burton Mill Solutions division. Come and grow with us! In this role you will be responsible for managing and overseeing activities related to the filling of products in our environment. You will play a key role in maintaining equipment functionality, minimizing downtime, and contributing to the smooth flow of production operations. How You Will Make a Positive Impact: Service, installs and upgrades various saw filing room equipment for the wood processing industry at customer sites; Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of service calls and regular site visits to provide preventive and corrective maintenance of electromechanical systems to ensure quality and safety standards are met; Responds to and communicates effectively with customers, sellers, engineers and project managers to ensure customer requirements are understood and resolved; Works irregular hours and overtime as require The Value You Bring: Diploma, degree or trade qualification in either a mechanical or electromechanical field (could include industrial mechanic, millwright, saw filer, mechanical technician/technologist) or the equivalent combination of education and experience; 1-3 years of experience Electromechanical Machine installation experience; Pneumatics, Hydraulics, drives and lubricating systems experience; Able to read mechanical blueprints; Able to read electrical drawings; Electrical troubleshooting skills; Knowledge of the saw filing room equipment (preferred but not required); PLC knowledge and understanding (preferred but not required); Knowledge of the Sawmill operations (preferred but not required); Computer experience writing reports in word processing program; Ability to work effectively with customers; Able to cross international borders and travel extensively to mill locations in North America and overseas.
