Growth and transformation are a natural part of our business, and our employees evolve with us.We are looking for a part-time Property Maintenance Worker at our Walker - Head Office location.Reporting directly to the Property Maintenance Lead, the incumbent will assist with investigation and resolution maintenance needs in Niagara. This will include but is not limited to, grounds, facility and rental unit maintenance and repairs. The incumbent will also assist with minor repairs to plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and various other maintenance required for, primarily but not limited to the Walker Environmental Head Office building, Woodington Systems Inc., and the Head Office building. Additionally, the incumbent will help to respond to emergency maintenance needs as required.ResponsibilitiesFacility maintenance * Provide updates to the Property Maintenance Lead on completion or receipt of goods or services so Purchase orders and/or Work orders are up to date. * Support facility monitoring by conducting ground and facility walkthroughs daily, equipment and system monitoring and inspections. * Performs general housekeeping duties and general repair and maintenance of Niagara Head Office campus office buildings. * Provides input and performs corrective actions for safety concerns arising from JHSC meetings. * Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and systems at Niagara Campus offices. * Provide maintenance and upkeep of Walker electric vehicles. * Assists with file sorting, storage solutions and facilitates office moves as necessary. Property Maintenance * Assists with supervision of contractor's work for landscaping, snow removal, tree removal and general upkeep of leased and vacant owned properties. * Assists with oversight of demolitions and large repairs or construction projects. * Supports annual rental unit inspections, documents deficiencies and updates the Property Maintenance Lead. * General maintenance and repairs of all Niagara based rental units. Skills * Demonstrated repair and maintenance skills, strong mechanical aptitude. * Expertise using power tools. * Ability to lift 50lbs. * Proficient communication skills, both oral and written, to disseminate information with clarity, in one-on-one or group situations, or over the telephone. * Advanced ability to pay close attention to details, makes sure work is done correctly and thoroughly. Keeps accurate records. * Proactive - anticipates and initiates action to meet needs. * Demonstrated knowledge of Health and Safety requirements. * Adaptable - able to work with diverse personalities and styles. * Ability to identify, analyze and resolve problems, at times, complex and abstract in nature. * Able to work with limited supervision and to take discretionary action as required. Education & Job Knowledge Minimum high school graduation or equivalent level of education. Proven experience and knowledge of identifying issues and performing minor repairs to electrical problems, plumbing, security, HVAC systems, water pumps, septic and cistern systems and fire suppressions. Experience A minimum of 1 years' experience in facility or property maintenance is considered an asset but not required.Certificates, Licenses or RegistrationA valid G Registration Ontario Driver's License in good standing is required for this position.
