Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing civil and forestry equipment, using diagnostic tools, and mentoring Indigenous apprentices. Job Title: Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic Location: Leduc AB Type: Full-Time, Year-Round Key Responsibilities: Equipment Maintenance & Repair Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems. Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work meets manufacturers' specifications. Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery. Training & Mentorship Provide hands-on training and mentorship to Indigenous apprentices, sharing knowledge and expertise. Monitor the progress of apprentices and provide feedback to improve their skills and knowledge. Foster a positive learning environment that encourages questions and growth. Safety Compliance Adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations, and best practices. Ensure equipment and tools are maintained in safe operating condition. Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the management team. Qualifications: Valid Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification. Proven experience with civil and forestry equipment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with computerized diagnostic equipment and modern repair methods. Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
