Montreal West Island CIUSSS is currently looking for nurses to fill full-time vacancies in the Emergency Department at St. Mary's Hospital.Would you like to make a significant contribution to patients? Join our team! There are many opportunities and prospects for advancement !Nurses working in the Emergency Department have the expertise to act competently in a multitude of emergency situations. More specifically, the nurse develops professional judgment to be able to prioritize and quickly assess the condition and progress of a user presenting to the emergency department. Distinctive advantages : Presence of a manager and nursing advisor on all three shifts for ongoing support; 14% critical care bonus if working full time; Team support at all times; Flexible working hours available; Ten (10) days of theoretical training followed by twenty (20) to thirty (30) days of orientation with a nurse are provided upon hiring; You can also benefit from three (3) days' training to work in the resuscitation room after six (6) to twelve (12) months' experience. You will have access to various emergency-specific training courses: Advanced cardiac life support; Advanced pediatric life support; Pediatric emergency nursing care; Non-violent crisis intervention; Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale; Foundations and Pediatrics (EPICC); Basic trauma course. Duties and responsibilities: Rapidly assess the condition and progress of a patient presenting to the emergency department; Evaluate the patient's condition and determine the priority level of care according to a predetermined classification; Periodically and systematically reassess patients awaiting medical management; Plan, deliver and evaluate education for users, their families and groups; Redirect patients to optimal resources; Work closely with physicians and the multidisciplinary team. Requirements : The person we are looking for must: Hold a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a diploma deemed equivalent by the competent authorities; Be a member of the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec (OIIQ); Ability to establish a therapeutic relationship with both French- and English-speaking clients; Have a minimum of one (1) year's experience in an emergency or intensive care unit.
