Adopt Kirby a White New Zealand / New Zealand / Mixed rabbit in Kingston

Location:
Kingston, ON
Description:

Name, age, type of animal: Kirby, 1 year 9-month, rabbitLikes: stacking cups, playing outside in a fenced supervised yard, enrichment toys (e.g., spinning wheel to get kibble out, tunnels), head pets, covered beds, boxes (to sleep and chew at cardboard), being close to youDislikes: slippery floors (hardwood, blankets that slide), being held, being brushed What would be the ideal home? Quiet, large free roam carpeted area, able to spend a lot of time around her, patient adults.Good with other pets? Has been around quiet, small dogs. She did okay but if the dog kept following her around, she snapped/attacked. Has not been with another rabbit and would require proper bonding to see. Good with children? Children must be quiet, calm and be able to make eye contact before touching her (read her body language). She can be very unpredictable (see "Any special needs or traits an adopter should know"). I recommend a child free home. Temperament: quiet, laid-back (with typically nighttime zoomies!), loving, curious. How long will it take to settle into a new environment? A few weeks. What kind of housing are they in? Free roam on a 10x10 carpet. Has several covered beds, boxes, and chairs to sit under/in. Favorite types of fruits/veggies? Romaine lettuce or green leafy lettuce, parsley, cilantro, bell peppers. Banana is her favorite special treat! I throw her food around the carpet for enrichment. She eats vegetables twice a day (~2 large pieces of lettuce with pieces of other vegetables that I have for each meal) with ~1/4 cup kibble twice a day and always unlimited hay and water. Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? She will only walk on carpet and is terrified of floors (will roam on concrete outside patio). She requires oxbow 100% western timothy hay (she is very sensitive to poor quality/dusty hay (e.g., from a farmer) and her feet/bum get very dirty from more concentrated urine). She can be moody. She is litter trained with a few poops (typically never pees) outside the box. Medical: N/AIf you think Kirby is the one for you - fill out an application today!
