Adopt JAKK (Mid-East, yo) a Brown/Chocolate - with Black Shepherd (Unknown Type)

Location:
Langley, BC
Description:

Unfortunately, due to regulations introduced by the CDC, dogs from the Middle East can no longer be imported into the US. Therefore, this dog is only available to Canadian residents. A very good day to you. My name is JAKK (Jack) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Shepard mixAge: 1 yr 9 monthsGender: maleWeight: 20 kgHeight: 60 cmRescuers found me here in the Middle East when they were out feeding stray dogs. I was taken to a safer place. I have been living in the shelter since then.I was taken to the vet at that time. The vet believes I am low on calcium and other nutritients, no accident or injuries otherwise thankfully. Well, aside from someone cutting off my ears, which is very common here in my country.I have another appointment to give more detailed info on whether I need more vitamins/minerals or any special nutrition to build me up.From lack of proper nutrition and/or genetics, my front feet are broken down/weakened. Given good nutrients and a vitamin/minerals mix will likely help. I will probably need some foot/leg braces though. I'm sure the vets in Canada can formulate a plan to help me improve and strengthen them. Maybe a bit of physiotherapy will help too.I am a very calm, kind boy. You'll find I am a pretty relaxed fellow... mellow in fact. I am just the type of loyal dog you want by your side. I will be your bestest buddy.A moderately easy activity level would suit me in a home. Maybe once my feet are in better shape, we can do more, as I hear there are spectacular things to do there in Canada. It would be nice to have a cushy spot in the house to laze around and be able to go out and roll in the grass, as well.I get along well with other dogs, but haven't been around any kitties or kids yet. With my chilled attitude though, I could probably do well with proper intro to a cat. Really just hoping for a family I can lavish my love upon and be loved in return.Energy Level: moderate to moderate-lowI get along with :Dogs : yesCats : unknownKids unknownPrey drive: unknown / not observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.Fears: unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: noneLeash skills: no. Please be prepared to train me.House trained: No. Please be prepared to help me learn!Health notes: disabled mobility in front paws, cut off earsI have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $700.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. [MID-EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##1454979##
