Who's a goooooodboy?! I'm a goodboy! At least that's what my foster mom says but she's right and I want the world to know it!My name is Ruger and I've lived a lot of life before my first birthday has even passed. And let me tell you, I'm aptly named as I have survived a gunshot among other things.I am currently getting fantastic care from a Paws it Forward vet (thank you donors!), as I go through physio for the gunshot recovery and heartworm treatment.I am a one-year-old beagle/shepherd cross clocking in at 42 pounds.I am a clever little guy who loves to have a laugh and play tough brain games like seeking out treats!Best of all? I LOVE love. Give me all the belly rubs and a good brushing, I am in heaven!Do you need a good listener? I will sit at attention and soak in every word you have to share! I have been busy recovering so I haven't had many adventures outside yet, but I am looking forward to it when I'm fully recovered! While I can be reactive to other dogs while on a leash I've actually met a few and got on really well with them. I guess I like to act tough sometimes but I'm really a softy.Continued socialization will be a must so I can learn to be the best and most friendliest version of myself. I currently live with a cat and we are besties. I am completely house trained and will let you know when I need to go!I love my kennel as my little safe space and I am happy to chill in there while you're out and about. I won't make any noise whatsoever. My leash manners are getting better every day and I am learning how to enjoy walks on my halti while not pulling and staying alert and curious out there. I am fascinated by aeroplanes; how do they get up there?I also love car rides, toys, treats and my humans! I'm currently borrowing a squeaky llama toy from my friend Henry and its become my new favourite. I hope he's forgotten about it so i can keep it!
