Position: Research AssociateLocation: Induxion Therapeutics, Toronto Ontario CanadaDepartment: Platform GroupReports To: Senior Research ScientistSalary: $70,000 to 90,000 + benefits – commensurate with level of experience Hours: 40 hours/weekJob Type: On-siteStatus: Full-Time, PermanentInduxion Therapeutics is seeking a Research Associate with molecular and cell biology experience to join their Platform team. The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of functional genomics, assay development and target validation.Induxion is a seed stage biotechnology company dedicated to the discovery, development and commercialization of next-generation induced proximity-based therapeutics for the treatment of cancer and other disease indications. Induxion is located in the downtown MaRS Discovery District, North America’s largest urban innovation hub.Position responsibilities include:Carry out molecular cloning using restriction enzymes, Gateway or Gibson assembly.Cell line generation and maintenance, including genotyping, validation and authentication.Assay development for functional genomic screens.Assist in the undertaking of functional genomic screens and hit validation.Design and conduct experiments to validate novel targets.Assist in other aspects relating to drug discovery biology, as needed.Maintain detailed records of experimental procedures and data in an electronic notebook.Liaise effectively with multi-disciplinary team members within the Platform group, the Drug Discovery group and with academic and industry collaborators.Participate in team meetings, both internal and external.Assist in day-to-day lab management, such as maintaining reagent inventories, reagent ordering, instrument maintenance, generation and updating of SOPs.Troubleshoot methods, suggest improvements, and develop new technologies for project advancement.Work effectively under pressure and tight timelines.Adhere to all Induxion safety guidelines and policies and strongly advocate safety to others.Qualifications:MSc or PhD in Molecular Biology or related field (Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Biophysics etc).Recent graduate with relevant experience in an industrial/academic drug discovery environment would be an asset.Experience in cell/molecular biology, including molecular cloning, PCR/qRT-PCR, Western Blot, CRISPR/Cas editing, cell culture, lentivirus generation and transduction, single-cell cloning, generation of stable cell lines, and flow cytometry.Comprehensive knowledge of Cell Biology.Strong knowledge and experience in target validation.Strong data analysis skills and proven knowledge in biological data statistical analyses.Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.Proven sense of team building and work ethic.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.CLOSING DATE: Until FilledInduxion Therapeutics is committed to fostering a climate of equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
