Adopt DEEBO (Texas) ky a Black - with White Labrador Retriever dog in Langley

Location:
Langley, BC
Description:

Happy, happy day peeps. My name is DEEBO (Apollo) and here is a little info about me:Breed: Lab mixAge: 1 yearGender: maleWeight: 55 lbsHeight: tbdHighlight(s): waggy tail happy boy, eager to please, energetic, playful, sweetI am a typical labbie boy. My tail is always wagging, as I am an ever happy boy who is always eager to please.Adopted right before euthanasia struck me down, I was then returned a few months later without explanation. Maybe my energy level??? That is when my rescuers stepped in. Sadly, it was very hard to for me to get any interest at the shelter, since I am just a black dog.I am a sweet and very energetic boy, who loves attention. I enjoy running and playing with my toys. After playing I will lay next to you for a nap. So I'm betting I will love Canadian hikes or romps at the beach. We can play fetch the ball for as long as you like too, even when my tongue is hanging to the ground. Oh joy.Being fairy high strung, I will need plenty of exercise (Lab, duh... who'd figure?) When introduced correctly, I get along well with other dogs (all have been fixed ones thus far.) I will bark at new people and dogs though, until I get know them. I seem to be good with kids.No intro to cats, but given my energetic nature probably best to not be in a home with them.I know how to sit. If I get too antsy, a calm voice and hand upon me, helps to chill me down. I am naturally slender and my fur is such, I will shed in summer.I am loving, protective and well... lab crazy. Haha. Did I mention I am a labbie mix? All in all, I'm a really good dog. I would love a large yard to do zoomies in and a friend to play with is a special bonus score.Energy Level: highI get along with:Dogs: yes, video soonCats: unknownKids: unknown, rescuer states yes, await video proof yet.Fears: none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Training: housetraining, a bit of leashwork, some commandsLeash skills: some. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1667185##
