Adopt Samuel (Mid-East) BN a Tan/Yellow/Fawn Husky / German Shepherd Dog dog in
Location:
Langley, BC
Description:
Hello! My name is Samuel, keep reading to get to know me!Breed: Husky / German Shepherd mixAge: 9 months Gender: Male Weight: 21kg (46 lbs) Height: 50 cm I had a rough introduction to the world. My rescuer found me, along with my two other siblings (Sebastian and Soffie) in a box beside a trash bin when we were only one month old. Can you imagine how scared we were? Thankfully we had each other. We were found with parvovirus unfortunately. My rescuer had all three of us treated and now we are healthy and happy. I’m feeling just about ready for a new home. The shelter is cramping my style and I’m ready to spread my wings. My rescuer says I am calm, but also energetic when I want to be! Given my breed, it’s no surprise that I am bright, smart, and will make you laugh a bit. I’m happy to cuddle up with you after a day of exploring. I’m good with other dogs and I like people! Kids though? Not sure, I haven’t met any yet! Cats… what are those? I haven’t met any yet! However my rescuer says they have not observed any prey drive. I’m house trained and can walk on a leash! But I would love to learn so much more! I am the perfect age to learn some new skills. I would do best in a home that can provide me with lots of exercise as my energy level is high! I would love to join my potential family on walks, adventures, bike rides, etc. Oh! And you may want to invest in a lint roller, if you know what I mean. My ideal home would be one who could give me the love and attention I need in order to thrive! I am a smart dude and will crave some mental stimulation on top of physical stimulation. Energy Level: High I get along with: Dogs: Yes People: YesKids: UnknownCats: UnknownPrey drive: Not observed. My adopter needs to be willing to train me through these behaviours should they arise. Fears: None observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: I am house trained and can walk on leash! But as mentioned above, I am the prime age for absorbing new information! I would love to learn more skills. Health notes: Parvovirus when found at 1 month old. Has been treated and is healthy now. I am neutered and have my vaccines. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.[MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##2012802##
