Adopt MOSLEY **Urgent** a Black - with White Labrador Retriever / Mixed dog in
MOSLEYDate of birth (estimation): July 2018Health: No known concerns, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Weight: ~26 kg We're hoping to find a new home for Mosley. He was adopted on November 30th after his long journey from Greece. On arrival he experienced some settling in issues. However, we're confident with the right home environment, he'll be a good addition to the family. Mosley got quite overwhelmed with all the changes in the 1st 6 weeks of his new life here so really needs his space to unwind. His new home should feel comfortable just letting him chill for the 1st few weeks, not adding any new elements to his daily routine. And it may take him some time to warm up to the male in the home. Especially if the male is tall, wears dark clothing or a hat and has a beard. This is because not many men are involved in rescue so a male figure isn't a common element in their past lives. Mosley is urgently needing a dog-experienced full grown(s) only home who's looking for a dog to love, going for walks and otherwise living a low key lifestyle. Preferably someone home /working from home during the day with limited visitors coming & going. As well, no kids in or visiting the home. This is because of his resource guarding of food / toys which requires management. I've included a link (one of many) on the subject which you might like to read Do a copy/paste into your browser.. https://thebark.com/content/resource-guarding-dogs-solving-troubling-problem. I've been able to confirm with the shelter in Greece that he got along good with the female dogs sharing time together in the off-leash play area. On reading this, 98% of you will no longer be interested but this is what rescue is about. They come with baggage of some kind. We realize these are really tough needs to fulfill but we're hoping someone will be interested in helping him overcome his anxieties as he has many good traits. Mosley is a young energetic and intelligent dog for an experienced adults only home. In placing him, we're trying to eliminate as many risk factors as possible, making the next placement successful for Mosley. Loving and affectionate with women and will need the man of the home to be comfortable knowing it may take time for Mosley to warm up to him; playful; very smart and learns quickly; easily trainable, food motivated; doesn't do much barking unless a reason for doing so; enjoys the outdoors; loves to go for walks. Very relaxed during the day and content to sleep on the couch or bed while man in current home works; bell trained at the back door to be let outside to do his business; energetic and healthy; generally a happy dog and curious (likes to explore his surroundings and figure out what's going on), Mosley is also very athletic so it would be good for him to have a job to do, be it something as simple as wearing a back pack with bottles of water in the side pockets when out for walks or a more challenging task of some kind. A home already familiar with new dog issues will be best for Mosley as he needs time to get used to new surroundings and his people. There's certainly lots to love about Mosley, lots of good traits. He is loving, smart, and lovable in many ways. Lastly, in return for a longterm commitment, we would waive the adoption payment and in lieu of, accept a donation for our efforts to help other rescued dogs. Just to add that, although not in Mosley's best interest to be moving him around to different environments, we would consider a foster or foster-to-adopt arrangement on the understanding that if you decided not to adopt him, he would be able to stay with you until a home is approved. If you're interested in Mosley, please email XXXX@sympatico.ca for an adoption form.
