Adopt MAGGS (Middle East) a Tan/Yellow/Fawn - with Black Labrador Retriever /

Location:
Langley, BC
Description:

Maggs (Maggie) Breed: mixedAge: 5 years oldGender: female, spayedWgt/Hgt: 53 lbs/ 20 inEnergy level: moderate to activeRelationships: good with dogs after slow intro / unknown cats and kidsHighlights: people oriented, smart, bit timid at firstRegion: Middle EastI am a people dog. Though I am a bit timid to start, once I get to know you a bit it's all good. I am a smarty girl too.The story of my life is a little different than other dogs from my country in the Middle East. My mother was a stray dog. I was among her first litters. Unlike most female dogs from that area, my mom was very lucky. She found a safe spot behind a kind lady's house to give birth to us. When the lady found out about us, she started feeding my mother every day. And was making sure that we were safe. But my mom had a bad habit of leaving her pups and going away. After my mother left us there, the lady kept feeding us. She even spayed/ neutered and vaccinated us.Sadly she had so many injured dogs and cats in her house that she was not able to give us a shelter. Somebody in the neighborhood started a home delivery food/ kitchen from her house. This brought so many costumers to our quiet neighborhood and the smell of food was attracting us to the house also. The customers did not want us there. This is when kicking and abusing and throwing rocks at us started. Finally the chef called the city officials to come to kill us. Right before the city official’s arrival, our rescuer took us into her yard. Phew. Then we were transferred to a local shelter. In the past 2 years we have changed 3 shelters due to their circumstances. In our current place, we are treated nicely, and are getting training.I am friendly but timid. I am not food possessive. I have learned to walk well on a leash leash. It does take me a little time to warm up to other dogs, so slow intro would be good. I am not sure how I would behave around cats and children. I do have a decent activity level, do I hope we will be getting out for fun exercise.I am so looking forward to having my very own family. Are you the ones?More videos: https://youtu.be/DeJf7uRIyNo , https://youtu.be/Dio3GEPsRKk .I have been spayed/neutered, *vaccinated & micro-chipped.My adoption fee is $650.00 CAD + applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. For this specific dog, the rescuer can bring her for curbside pick up at border if you are willing to do so. More details as needed.Due to the ever-changing extenuating circumstances brought on by the Global Pandemic, we are struggling to transport dogs to Canada. Please note that additional fees may apply (beyond the adoption fee) in order to get your dog to you. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs and will ask for your approval before any travel arrangements are made. The following are some examples of possible, non - refundable , additional costs (note, these are estimates only and are subject to change):For USA/Canada border transfer (via a Brokerage Company):$370 weekdays. Two dogs crossing, $270 per dog. Three dogs, $215 per dog. Four dogs, $190 per dog. Prices are higher on the weekend.Unaccompanied Cargo costs within Canada: $275-$475 per dog.
