Lavalife is looking to hire a Database Administrator (DBA) for the Database Management team with 5+ yrs experience in a real world production environment. The DBA will be responsible for design, development, implementation, maintenance and support of database concepts in Sybase.Specific duties include:
• General DBA support for the technology development groups
• Developing Transact SQL stored procedures
• Data Normalization and ER diagramming
• Business Process documentation
• Sybase data import/export utilities
• Script maintenance and development
• Report maintenance and development
• Data Migration, Audit and Archiving process development
• Provide feedback and input into the design and architecture of current and future Tech projects
Skills, Knowledge, Attributes & Relevant Work Experience:
• 5+ years experience in a real time database production environment
• 3+ years with Sybase ASE (preferably in Sun Solaris and Linux) is an absolute must
• Proficient with database management utilities
• Good communication skills
• Must be a natural problem solver
• Transact SQL and Shell scripts programming skills
• Any experience in Sybase IQ and Rep Server is desirable
Education & Qualifications:
• Degree in computer science or engineering is preferred
